This is how I started my year so that must mean good things are to come this year....

We were "partyin' with thousands" according to the DJ that said that over and over again. Following my best friend's wedding we headed to Magic Kingdom to try to get in. We tried not to get our hopes up but it turned out to be a perfect night! I have been wanting to go to Disney World on New Years for so long. It was awesome!
Speaking of Disney World.... our training is going pretty well. We completed 8 miles on Sunday and even though we've skipped a few runs here and there we are pretty proud of ourselves. I think a little recovery time over the week of Christmas was good for me though. Running with a knee brace is no fun and I think I'm doing ok without it again now. The best part is that we are at a point now that we can hold a conversation while we are running. I am loving it! I was meeting with a few ladies the other day that were talking about people who run/walk together and the strength in a relationship that they build from that. It made me realize how true that is and made me see how thankful I am for Lauren and the friendship that has come from this. My discussion with those ladies was part of planning for an event in the coming months that we named Be Intentional. Even just from that conversation I was able to pinpoint that that thought has been on my mind lately. It is so important to be intentional in my life with Christ, the wellness of life, and with those around me walking this journey. We were created for relationship and are placed in a community with others. I am beyond blessed with the people God has placed in my life.
So here's to this new year... I hope to grow closer in my walk with Christ, strengthen the relationships with those around me, and finish 13.1 miles in the place where dreams come true!
God, please grant me the PATIENCE to seek Your will, the WISDOM to understand it, and the STRENGTH to follow through.
